MAN TGX XLX 8x6 Tractor
Presented here is a 4-axle 1:50th scale MAN TGX XLX heavy haulage tractor unit decorated in the colours of Fanger AG, a Swiss crane and transport company from WSI Models. The model is based on a 8x6 chassis with a fifth wheel coupling, detachable ballast box and tower structure mounted behind the cabin. The front bumper has inset light housings and panel bolt fixing details which look good with a towing frame fixed to the chassis, complete with contoured plastic cover.
The underside of the model has a host of details including the replicated drive-train from the gearbox to the distribution box where drive shafts are fitted to the front and rear axles. The simulated suspension frames have been modeled and the front pair of axles have linked steering which has a very limited range of movement. There are two different types of tyres fitted to the model with the drive wheels having a more pronounced tread pattern.
The cab interior has been replicated with contoured seating and dashboard visible through the clearly glazed front and side windows. Anti-slip plates have been inset into the access step well with the door handle highlighted while silver paint has been applied to the rear view mirror housings, topped with an amber coloured light bar and four floodlights connected to a chromed frame mounted to the roof.
The cabin tilts forward to reveal the modeled power-plant with decorated components consisting of the cooling and exhaust systems. The rear panel of the cabin has an integrated plastic air intake with the rear tower having a full length fuel tank and cooling package with air bottles and a fan blade covered with a protective mesh screen along with coiled service lines and a diamond plate textured platform.
The paint finish is of a very high standard with crisp printing of the Fanger markings with red safety markings wrapping around the front and sides of the cabin.
